Final Post

My favorite memory this year was when we all went rafting. I enjoyed it so much because it was the first time we all got to hang out together as Lifetime Rec. It was also a great way to get to know everyone and after that day on the river, I knew something new about everyone.

I chose this picture because what I learned while being here is that I have to trust everyone around me. No matter who you are with, who you are living with, or anything else, you have to trust that person.

Bike Ride

The place I rode my bike to was WinCo and it was enjoyable. The advantages of going by bike was that it was shorter because I could cut through the park by going over the bridge and I could avoid all of  the traffic on the streets. The trip was more enjoyable than taking the car because I got to ride passed the zoo and got to see the zebras and giraffes. I do every trip I take by bike because it I don't have a car to take instead.

Challenges

There isn't any challenge in particular I want to write about right now but I can relate any challenge to what we faced when we went to the rock wall. When you are faced with a challenge you shouldn't give up. Like when climbing a rock wall you might have to look for an alternate root or just reach to the next rock and pull yourself over that first hurdle. You have to keep climbing until you get to the top of the wall and by doing that, you grab ahold of each rock or each new challenge in your path and take it head on until you get passed it. Once you get to the top, it's like a feeling of accomplishment because your got passed all of the little obstacles in your way.

Tuesday's Class

I thought that Tuesdays class was more along the lines of what most of us thought we were going to be doing when we signed up for it. I for one didn't think that we would be learning about stress, nutrition, and any of the other subjects we went over in the entire LLC group events. I thought that this class would be like what we did on Tuesday, working out, mainly doing athletic activities. It was definitely fun to do and I would love to do something like that again.

Spring Break

My Spring break started out pretty exciting. I first went to Sun Valley with my dad for a few days and had a great time. The snow might not have been very good, but the skiing was still awesome. We both got to use a smart phone app that tracked where we've been, speed, and other cool stats about your day. After 3 days of skiing, we had over 120,000 vertical feet skied and my top speed was over 51 mph.

After I got back from break I was expecting to have a nice relaxing couple of days before I had to come back to Boise. Instead, my friend texted me saying that he got a pass from his uncle to get into the Game Developers Conference (GDC) in San Francisco. He didn't want to go by himself so he decided to use some of his money and got some money from his parents to get me into the expo because I didn't have any money to spend myself. I didn't really know what to expect going into it because I'm not a game developer but all of that is interesting to me. I ended up having a great time at GDC, getting to go around to hundreds of booths learning about all of the new techniques and software that are being implemented to the video games of tomorrow. This year at GDC, the main focus was on smart phone and tablet games and apps and virtual reality. The apps weren't very interesting or fun but the different forms of virtual reality they had at GDC were pretty cool to see in motion, even though the lines to use the machines were about 4 hours long each.

Re-connecting

I don't really think that there is that much we can do to re-connect mainly because I don't think our group has been disconnected. If we were more unconnected then what we could do would be to just schedule times to get together and do something as a group or, if not the entire group, smaller groups because a lot of people don't have much time to do extra circular activities because of work and classes.

Stretching and Warm-Ups

To be honest, and I am not trying to be smug or anything like that, I already do just about everything we covered in Tuesday’s class. I may not do every single stretch that we covered, but I do do most of them. I always stretch before I work out, run, or do anything that could be strenuous to my muscles. I usually stretch for about 15 minutes before I do any of these activities. Whenever I go to soccer practice, when I went to football practice in high school, or whenever I have a game of any sort, I generally stretch when I get there before the practice or game even starts even when we are going to warm up and stretch as a team anyways. Instead of rolling with the foam roller, I have something called The Stick, which is pretty much just a hand held version of it. And because I can’t think of anything I can add to my stretching or warm up or anything else to add to this blog response from what we learned about in class on Tuesday and I also need to get this to 200 words, I’m just going to keep…
